I’m posting my experience with the new (circa 2017) Tannoy “Legacy” Arden here for anyone who may be looking for information on them. Both had great midrange but the Turnberry edged out the Cheviots just slightly. Much like the Tannoy Prestige Range (a favourite, here at The Audio Affair Blog), the Tannoy Legacy Series are hand-built at Tannoy’s famous Coatbridge plant in Scotland. The Golden Ear Triton Reference speakers i own are really taxing my ears on the highs. Tannoy surrounds last a bit longer than most because they are coated hence reducing foam rot. I also own a pair of the floorstanding Tannoy R3s, and a pair of Rega RS1's which are currently stored in the loft. Also have a set of small-cabinet Chertsey (Surrey-series) speakers with 3128 drivers. Aug 17, 2020 · Tannoy very pointedly states that the Arden is designed to be used in large listening rooms. I have a very ugly listening room that is hard to fill, but these do a fantastic job. The Arden also has a larger cabinet. I have heard the Turnberry GR and loved them but am more interested in the Arden or Cheviot but can't find if these sound much different than the Turnberry or the Prestige line as a whole.
